Ali Rustam remains Malacca CM, says Najib

KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 – While Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam has been deemed guilty of offences serious enough to merit being barred from contesting in the upcoming Umno elections, he will remain as the Malacca Chief Minister.

Deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said today hoped Mohd Ali would accept the decision with an open heart.

He also urged him to continue contributing to the struggle of the party.

The Umno Disclipinary Board found Mohd Ali guilty of violating party ethics for indulging in money politics and is prohibited from contesting the post of Umno deputy president. – Bernama (reported by malaysianinsider)
