Kelantan Pas today asked Pasir Mas Member of Parliament, Datuk Ibrahim Ali to declare his stand to Pas supporters who voted for him during the last general election whether he wanted to remain as a Pas’ ally or join Umno.
“We have asked him to step down, but he refused. So, I think he should declare his stand whether he is joining Umno or any other political parties,” Kelantan Pas Liaison Secretary Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan told Bernama here today.
Ibrahim was asked by Pas to vacate the seat for having hit out at the party in the Dewan Rakyat recently.
He, however, refused to do so on the ground that he could not contest again for the next five years if he were to resign.
He won the seat on a Pas ticket but his status in the Dewan Rakyat is as an independent MP.
