"People-centric" manifesto aims to bring down Pakatan Rakyat

Shah Alam, March 13 - By Asrul Hadi Abdullah Sani | malaysiainsider

Kampung Tunku assemblyman, Lau Weng San, today presented to the press a report by the Selangor State Development office which he claimed represented a subversive attempt to bring down the Pakatan Rakyat government.

The report was a slide show presentation during a meeting held by the taskforce of the Selangor State Development Office on February 26 this year.

The report stated that a "people-centric" programme was to be implemented to win the hearts and minds of the public in Selangor.

The programme is aimed at strengthening the positive perception of the people towards the federal government.

Lau said the programme was aimed at increasing public backing for the federal government and to tarnish the image of the opposition.

The taskforce had also listed down five separate programmes, which were to conduct visits to victims of natural disasters and tragedies, social visits to houses, to hold religious celebrations together, to enforce poverty eradication programmes, and to strengthen the Federal Village Development and Security Committee (JKKKP) and government linked NGOs.

The people-centric task force is chaired by the state development office and the members are from the National Security Council, Sports and Youth Ministry, Information Ministry, Election Commission, and the National Unity Department.
